Tutor.com Named CODiE Finalist in Two Categories

Tutor.com Learning Suite earns prestigious industry recognition for
Best Customer Experience in EdTech and Best Education Platform for PK–20

NEW YORK, May 21, 2021 /— Tutor.com, one of the world’s largest online tutoring services, today announced that it was named a 2021 SIIA CODiE Awardfinalist in two categories: Best Customer Experience in EdTech, and Best Education Platform for PK–20.

Best Customer Experience in EdTech is part of a new set of categories recognizing companies for their outstanding response to COVID-19. The 37 finalists across five categories represent companies, products, and people that have gone the extra mile in response to COVID-19 in the Business and Education Technology sectors.

CODiE Award finalists for Best Education Platform for PK–20 represent applications, products, and services from developers of educational software, digital content, online learning services, and related technologies across the sector.

Acknowledged as the premier awards program for the software and information industries for more than 35 years, the SIIA CODiE Awards are produced by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association for the software, education, media, and digital content industries.

“The CODiE Awards recognize the most exciting and transformative products in Ed Tech,” said Jeff Joseph, SIIA President. “This year, these leaders helped our nation respond to the historic pandemic, enabling learners, educators, administrators, and parents to remain connected to each other and to critical educational resources via an array of innovative services and platforms. Congratulations to this year’s finalists for demonstrating the vitality, resilience, and importance of this important industry.”

Tutor.com offers a robust proprietary online classroom that allows learners from PK–20 as well as jobseekers to access resources and tools they need—from a drawing tool for younger learners to a graphing calculator, text editor, coding screen, and beyond. Through the platform, which supports 1-to-1 tutoring via text-chat and voice, learners can access 24/7 support in 250 subjects. They can also utilize drop-off writing and math problem review, as well as practice quizzes, video lessons, test prep from The Princeton Review®, and other resources.

As demand for academic support soared in spring 2020, Tutor.com’s proactive Client Services and Learning Services teams scaled up—adding new subject offerings in English and Spanish, recruiting and onboarding hundreds of expert tutors, and offering educator-led webinars for partners and students. All the while, they continued to provide custom implementations, ongoing dedicated client and student support, and on-demand data and reporting.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from our ed tech industry peers,” said Sandi White, Senior Vice President, Institutional, Tutor.com and The Princeton Review. “We are driven by the goal of promoting equity in access to academic support, and we are proud to provide the highest level of service to our partners and their learners. We love what we do, and we’re glad that it shows.”

Tutor.com has been partnering with institutions and organizations for more than 21 years and 20 million tutoring sessions. Many of Tutor.com’s clients have been with the company for a decade or more. Feedback from clients often addresses the exceptional communication as well as analytics that Tutor.com provides. As one college client administrator wrote in 2020: “You provide a level of service (unfortunately) rare in higher education support industries.” A library client administrator wrote in 2021: “It’s so refreshing to get good statistics from one of our vendors.” A K–12 client administrator similarly noted in 2020: “I am so grateful that we have this service to offer our students during this time, and that we have found a service that really works.”

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program. Finalists were selected by teams of expert judges and represent the most impactful initiatives from software, content, media, financial information and educational technology companies. Their scores determine the SIIA CODiE Award finalists and account for 80% of the overall score. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products. The scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners. Winners will be announced during the CODiE Award Winner announcement celebrations, on June 22 and June 23, 2021. Details about each finalist are listed at https://www.siia.net/codie/2021-Finalists.
