John Calvello Named Chief Institutional Officer

Longtime Company Leader Takes the Helm for Educational Partnerships

NEW YORK, July 29, 2024 /— Education services giants Tutor.com and The Princeton Review® have chosen John Calvello to be Chief Institutional Officer. In this role, Calvello oversees all institutional partnerships for K–12 schools and districts, higher education institutions, libraries, government entities, and employee benefit programs. These partnerships help institutions and organizations scale the delivery of personalized tutoring, High-Dosage Tutoring, test prep, drop-off review services, and a wide range of additional academic supports—all at no cost to students.

We are thrilled that John Calvello is leading our Institutional team, said Bob Batten, Chief Executive Officer. He has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to serving learners of all ages and educational stages. Given the pressing need to support students, teachers, and families, he will work tirelessly to scale the delivery of High-Dosage Tutoring and other evidence-based learning interventions.

Calvello brings extensive edtech leadership experience to the role. A fourteen-year veteran of the organization, he most recently served as the companies’ Vice President of Institutional Sales. Prior to that, he held the roles of Regional Sales Director for Graduate Programs, Executive Director for Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware, and Territory Manager for Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware.

One of Calvello’s top priorities is expanding access to High-Dosage Tutoring, test prep, and AI tools. My team and I have seen the impact that personalized tutoring makes on student success, he said. We look forward to continuing to innovate and provide learners with accessible pathways to achievement.
